Contact: PM me
Intentions: Hero of her own story
Background
Name: Patience Marie Elizabeta "Danger" Rochelle Gertrude Pierce
Race: Noble Fey
Species: High Elf
Age: 31 (physically closer to late teens)
Tier: 2
Social
Place of Birth: Fleur, Arcadia
Allegiances: Arcadia
Aspirations: Get out of her father's shadow
Nicknames: Bee, Bets, Beta (as in, Elizabeta; as in, "I'm Beta than you")
Titles: Daughter of the Arcadian Ambassador to Greenwich
Relatives: Michael Pierce (father), Gerturde Pierce (mother, deceased)
Significant Other: Excitement
Mental
Personality: Overconfident and self-assured, Beta takes the bull by the horns, the face, and the shoulders, and then judo tosses it into the pool to cool off. As Patience Marie Elizabeta Rochelle Gertrude Pierce, she is a proper young lady of noble blood and upbringing, ready to dance and charm her way into the hearts of Arcadia and Greenwich's social elite. Too bad she absolutely hates being a proper young lady. To say she has a hard-on for excitement is not only sexist, its an understatement. Beta is a thrill-seeker at heart. She craves it. She needs it. She may live the life of a polite debutante by day, but she much prefers being a crime-fighting bee-blasting forest walker by night. On Tuesdays, she bungee jumps.
Likes:
Excitement, danger, adventure, any variation of the three, sapphires, soups, caffeine, going really fast, the sound of a bee blast smacking a criminal down, being personally responsible for stopping a robbery, guys that can keep up with her and follow her lead
Dislikes:
Being ordered/commanded what to do, having to be proper, having to be patient, being stuck somewhere, biting her tongue, salty foods, slowing down, going to sleep, reading (anymore)
Strengths: Beta's strengths come from her dual lives. Years of forced lessons have insured she is as graceful and poised as she is clever, and throwing herself into danger means she's gotten used to all the heart-pounding excitement and the life or death decisions they bring. Nearly die three times in one night? She can ask, "What's for breakfast?" without thinking twice.
Weaknesses: She's a little too in love with excitement at times. She does things she knows she shouldn't - things that are unnecessarily dangerous, or just inappropriate - and if someone else is willing to go along for the ride, that only encourages her to go farther. She pushes boundaries and only stops if someone gets hurt, physically or emotionally. Whether she even knows or cops to it, she's also got her share of the legendary Noble Fey arrogance going on.
Physical
Major Details: brown eyes, white skin, long brown hair, fey beauty, 5' 6"
Appearance: Curvy is the order of the day. She's not thin, nor plump; her white-skinned body is just pleasantly curvy. Add her thrill-seeking onto the years of dance, and it's understandable why she has a bit more muscle than the average girl - though not enough to have real definition. On the surface, she just looks like an average girl of 5'6" ... that happens to radiate elven beauty and nobility. She keeps her long, wavy hair - a powerful brown shade, the same as her eyes - tied back, save her bangs. She keeps those cut shorter, tapering out to each side of her face. When being adventurous, she likes to wear a green beret, though the rest of her outfit is subject to change as the situation dictates. Riding pants and boots are favored, as are long-sleeved shirts (which she tends to wear with the sleeves rolled up) and overskirts open in the front.
Natural Abilities: As Fey, Beta is naturally stronger and more durable than a human being of her size.
Natural Traits: As Fey, Beta's senses are naturally sharper than a human being's, and she has little to fear from normal diseases.
Strengths: A dancer by father's mandate, Beta handles herself with the stereotypical grace and poise expected of a young aristocrat. A warrior by personal mandate, Beta knows how to handle herself in combat and with Fey strength, can even overpower the average human/beastfolk male. Midnight patch jobs on damaged clothing has also made her an amateur seamstress.
Weaknesses: Beta has little to no experience with firearms and most weapons. So accustomed to fighting with magic advantages that in places where her magic can't help, she loses much of the efficacy of her physical combat potential. While she may surprise a strong man with her Fey strength, she's obviously not going to overpower the stronger end of the spectrum. Wrestling a werecreature, while a fun idea in the back of her head, remains fully beyond her. She's thinking of finding a really small one, like a wererat, and then seeing what happens.
Magical
Specializations:
- Tier 1: Mental (Bees). Beta is able to channel aspects of bees with just her mind - creating, augmenting, or even altering parts about herself.
- Tier 2: Mental (Spider). Beta is able to channel aspects of spiders with just her mind - creating, augmenting, or even altering parts about herself.
Visual Display: Beta's magic has a soft golden glow, made more apparent when firing stinging "bee" bolts with her Bee magic.
Special Abilities: Enhanced Recovery, Enhanced Speed, Immune to Telepathy
Bonus Special Abilities: Alternate Sense (Magic), Hypnosis - Teleportation
Unique Abilities: As a high elf, Beta has unnaturally large reserves to perform her magic, compared to the average specie.
Strengths: While her magic isn't designed for great displays of power and force, her finesse with using them means she doesn't need it. She knows full well how to make a little magic go a long way, and with her already large reserves, Beta can keep going long after most people have worn out due to the strain. Using Spider magic, she can temporarily grow up to six arms, which can greatly increase her speed with physical tasks. Bee magic likewise allows her to grow insectile wings to fly with remarkable agility.
Weaknesses: A fireball wizard, she is not. Not only are her powers not designed for dropping "bomb" spells, but they actually tend to be a bit weaker to fire then other varieties of magic. Her magic, while not fully unique, is still unusual enough that she's had to figure out most of it on her own. Not only does this mean she hasn't figured out all she can do yet, but it also means she doesn't have the "I'll do this in that situation" training that others do, so there are moments she could actually waste time just trying to figure out how to act. Bee and spider constructs, while potentially very harmful, are also very fragile. Her "stealthy" spy-ders have had a tendency of getting swatted.

History
Raised the only daughter of the "great" elven mediator, Michael Pierce, Patience Marie Elizabeta Rochelle Gertrude Pierce was taught from a young age to be exactly what he thought a young girl was supposed to be - which was, a lady. He may have have been good at compromises and solving people's differences, but a wise father figure he wasn't. Her early days were filled with lessons round the clock. She had personal tutors for every subject, trainers in dance, gymnastics, martial arts, and even had personal lessons in piano, violin, and flute. Fun was scheduled at 3 PM to 5 PM, Mondays through Fridays - from 9 PM to 11 PM on Saturdays. "Parties" - of the Noble Fey, tea drinking variety - on Sundays.
Another parent, and many others in general, could see the problem in the system readily enough: not everyone handles that much structure so well, even among the high elves. The young lady Pierce happened to be one such person, and her need for freedom struck back with a vengeance as she grew older. Before she was a teen, she'd already been sneaking in
and out of the mansion every night, mission impossible style. Between the vast variety of landscapes in Arcadia, and the greater danger of the Hedge, being cooped up in a mansion was just not her idea of fun.
But for the humans that had to live there, where fey knights did little to no policing beyond the town borders, it was hardly fun and games. One day, while exploring the woods, she came across a group of traders being attacked by monsters - goblins most likely, of some Fleurian variety. More for the excitement of the danger, than for any altruism, she joined in the fray along side the traders' bodyguards. That fight was the most exciting time of her life to date. The rush was so intense that she was more than a little surprised as the traders thanked her profusely for aiding them in their time of need.
She had to think about it a long time, before she realized that she didn't just want to explore and get herself in trouble anymore. She could do more than just that. Though not explicitly starting a fight, she was certainly looking for them on her nightly escapes. It was hard to keep up the charade with her father, and more then once he found her out of bed. He gave her a stern grounding each time - "fun time" was canceled until further notice. That only ever lasted a few days.
Her life thus became a juggling act between her two personas, as proper young lady and thrill-seeking vigilante. It took only a few years for the humans around to start talking more about "Beta," her alternate persona. If her father was paying more attentions to the rumors, he may have put two and spider together, but things had been heating up in international politics as of late. She hadn't been paying much attention to his life either, otherwise she might have predicted the eventual news.
"We are being sent to Greenwich. I am to be the Arcadian Ambassador!"
She twitched.
