Personality: A hundred years of life leads a long way to build a character. That's what it does to Jorungar. He had seen many deaths from his life as both a captive in The Captivity and fighter in The Resistance and that toughened him up over the years. He has a serious demeanor, but that doesn't mean he does not appreciate good humor when he sees one.
Likes: Strength, alcohol, cigars, any worldly pleasures.
Dislikes: Weaknesses, soldiers, doctors, surgeons, surgery tools.
Strengths: Demented creativity. It's his bread and butter, in both staying alive and doing his everyday living.

Appearance: Tall and rather monstrous-looking, most, if not all, people found him intimidating, even among his peers at The Resistance. As a mythical beastfolk with a natural longevity in life span, his current age did not reflect a century year-old human at all, which puzzled many of his human comrades. Jorungar wore whatever clean clothes he could find in his room, but mainly he sports a black wifebeater, long cargo pants and worn boots.
Natural Abilities: Jorungar is physically fit from years of routine physical training, both in 'The Captivity' and The Resistance,
Natural Traits: As a sentient basilisk, he inherited two deadly traits from his non-sentient brethren; the deadly venom on his fangs, and a killing eye glare, although the latter was removed early in his life with a painful surgery.
Strengths: Jorungar can perform most physical tasks that can be accomplished by any person of his big stature. Constant hide-and-seek with armed guards, police and such also kept his reflexes well-trained.

Born as a hatchling in the swamps of Bol'shotnogo, sentient Jorungar was captured by the venturing soldiers of Ruthenia, and instead of being massacred like any other non-human beings roaming the horrid nation, Jorungar, who was a sentient mythical beastfolk child and shows resistance to the capture by spouting small blasts of corrosive poison clouds as he cried, was sent to 'The Captivity'.
'The Captivity' is a research institute for captured nonhumans who shows signs of natural affinity with magic to be 'reeducated' to fight for the government's cause. Albeit the place has written 'education' background, the practice itself was anything but educational. They implement rigorous training, painful experiments, even went so far as to make the captured children fight against each other to the death as to ensure their own survival. Any casualties occured were merely shown by numbers and 'Failed' labels over viewing screens.
Jorungar was no exception. First he went through forced surgeries to take out his dangerous eyes; the gaze of an adult basilisk can cause petrification, even death on direct eye contact. They managed to gouge out Jorungar's eyes with surgical magic, but the pain made Jorungar yelled "DIE!!" in a dangerous, loud, serpentine hiss, and released waves after waves of toxic clouds and barbed wires in the operation room, seriously injuring all of the officers inside before they can knock him out with electrocution. This incident raised questions whether they should eliminate Jorungar as a serious threat, or continue to brainwash him into one of the strongest weapons for the government.
By a small marginal difference in votes, they picked the latter.
Jorungar spent the years in The Captivity after that incident with Magical artifacts called Bloodstone Eyes, which allows him to see again, implanted on his eye sockets. Over the years, the various experiments and magical implants they had done to him got stronger. Harder. More vile, and sinister. Jorungar spent years and years hating everything; Many friends he had made in The Captivity who suffered only one tenth of what he had suffered had found salvation in deaths. Often times in his own hands; all the experiments, implants and training The Captivity forced upon Jorungar made him powerful enough to be able to end lives very quickly, provided none of them struggle. Many of them didn't. They wanted out. Even by death. Jorungar, with countless tears from his eyes, killed his friends one by one in the arena, per their own will, to set them free.
In all that's happened, he found little bits of salvation himself, in the presence of loved ones. Y'Askar, a female Woodling from the Bol'Shotnogo swamps, and Grant, a male tiger Beastfolk from the capital. Despite all, against all odds, three of them, at once, became close friends. Best friends. Lovers. Jorungar found the torturous experiments became much more bearable, knowing he has Y'Askar and Grant to go back to. They would chatter, tell unfunny jokes they made themselves in the confinement of The Captivity, even delved in things best left unspoken to innocent ears. In this piece of hell, they found their own happy place. It lasted for years. They survived.
Until they were pitted against each other in the arena.
Jorungar begged the researchers behind viewing screens to just kill him. His pleas fell to deaf ears and laughters. But Y'Askar and Grant stopped him; it's no use, and the best they can do is to do it quickly... So Jorungar took the burden and granted their wish after sharing goodbye kisses to both.
He swore that he would take down The Captivity by then.
His real chance showed up three decades after that. The Resistance broke into The Captivity to free the captured nonhumans; Jorungar saw the chaos as a chance. He slipped through the defenses in one of the main power grid fields and unleashed hell; torrents and huge waves of toxic substances and flying guillotine blades wrecked the main power field and resulted in a huge explosion, catching Jorungar himself in it.
He found himself in The Resistance's underground base, his body covered from head to toe with bandages. He was told that his actions in The Captivity left a serious damage; but it did not destroy The Captivity itself. He was even given the status of 'Undesireable', which means a highly regarded criminal. He was enraged, but the Leader of The Resistance knocked some sense into him to stay calm, and persuaded him to join the Resistance. It took a lot of time for Jorungar to consider. In the end, he agreed to join on one condition; when The Resistance rise to power, he's going to be given the chance to personally destroy The Captivity, and any and all researchers who were responsible for what they had done to him, Grant and Y'Askar.
And so, he continued to serve The Resistance, decades by decades, until this very day.
